Ambient Hotel & Aromaspa Sikonda

The only real downside was how much sound came through the door connecting to the next room. The spa area is huge, so it doesn't feel as crowded as at most other places. All in all, it was an excellent stay, and I'll definitely come back.

The hotel was clean, though its layout was confusing and we got lost several times going to and from our rooms. The snack bar had some nice lunch choices. The restaurant food was a letdown: breakfast and dinner were okay, but there wasn't much to choose from for the price, and both dinner nights offered only rice as a side. Some restaurant staff seemed like they really didn't want to be there, and unfortunately you could feel it. It's a nice spa hotel with plenty of warm pools and a few saunas. The rooms were okay, though some have been renovated and others haven't.

The indoor and outdoor pools were excellent, as were the saunas. Food was average, with only a small selection at breakfast and dinner, and quite limited cakes and desserts. We'd booked a Premium room, but were given one designed for guests with physical disabilities. There was no shower cabin in the bathroom, so showering flooded the entire floor and left us unable to use the toilet. The room looked onto an earthen embankment. There were no extra toiletries such as body lotion or conditioner, just shower gel, though those are usually provided in four-star hotels. The hotel was renovated in 2024, but the mattresses date from that period too and already need urgent replacement.

We had plenty to do over our three days at the spa hotel. The pools and saunas offered lots of variety, the views were gorgeous, and the food was out of this world. The rooms were clean and cozy, equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were huge and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For walks, the lakes and the road beside them are incredibly picturesque. The forest paths right by the hotel felt a bit too easy after the Tettye hiking paths, so I would have gone to the lakes every day. Mecsextrém park is nearby by car and was a fantastic experience. My only wish is that fresh gowns and towels were provided daily. In September, getting them dry was a headache.
