The only reason this gets one point instead of less is that it was open and we didn't wait long. We just ate here, and the food was average restaurant fare. We didn't get sick, but I wouldn't want to see the kitchen. For that quality, it was extremely expensive, Mátra or no Mátra. The place is run down, more of a dump than a simple restaurant with checkered tablecloths. And this was in 2018, yet instead of a bill we got a yellow Post-it. If you're hungry, you could eat at the hotel opposite for about the same price, or drive five minutes to Mátraháza for hot sandwiches or pancakes at the roadside buffet. The food there is good, costs a quarter as much, and it's always open. I like cooked meals, but around here I'd rather not risk it. It seems likely to be either expensive or expensive and bad.

Breakfast came with delicious Hungarian scrambled eggs and a little cocoa. The service was pleasant, and they kindly prepared the breakfast even though it wasn't on the menu.

The restaurant is beautifully designed, and the accommodation feels homely and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the service very kind.

We visited last September. The food was delicious, though it took a long time to arrive. Our waiter was polite and friendly.

The food was okay, but the portions felt small for the price. Service left a lot to be desired.
