Wekler Családi Pincészet és Panzió

We spent a few days there in September. The staff were generally nice, and the room and bathroom were both spacious, neat, and pleasant. The main road 6 runs close to the balcony, so it can get a little noisy when you’re sitting outside. Breakfast could have been more generous. Still, it works well for hiking or a few relaxing days.

We had some tasty food and wine, and the guesthouse owner was warm and attentive. She was lovely to talk to and shared lots of information about Mecseknádasd and the surrounding area. The Wekler guesthouse is beautiful inside and out, and they keep it clean and orderly. Thanks for the hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

We arrived somewhere unfamiliar and left having found friends. Everything here feels family-run, from the winery to the atmosphere and the warmth people share. The accommodation was clean and tidy, and the meals were homemade. We especially appreciated getting to try real local food. The smell and color of good wine can disappear, but its taste stays with you. We’d love to return with friends so they can experience Györgyi and the team’s hospitality too.

Getting hold of the accommodation was incredibly difficult. After arranging several appointment times, we arrived to find no receptionist and no message explaining the absence. Another couple and we waited outside the house for 40 minutes before he showed up. It often felt as if we were being done a favor just by being allowed to stay two nights. Inside, it’s a pleasant place with nice furnishings and good wine, and a great base for hiking. But the whole chaotic, unworthy experience brought the rating down to three stars. It didn’t feel like sincere, heartfelt hospitality.
