The water was cold, and even after I discussed it with staff, nothing was fixed. I couldn’t take a shower. The balcony door was completely shattered, the bathroom shower door and shower head were cracked, and the bedroom door wouldn’t close because its frame was so damaged. The bathroom was so small that when showering you were less than half a metre from the toilet. Its sliding door wouldn’t close all the way. In the room for three, there was one big bed and one small bed, which was actually an old armchair unfolded stiff as wood. You couldn’t sleep on it. Staff refused to change my room, and I didn’t get a refund. The hotel was really dirty and unmaintained, with so many broken things. The carpet, dining hall, coffee machine, table and plates were all musty and dirty. They DO NOT sanitize anything. See the conditions for yourself:

I was very disappointed with Hotel Minerva. In my opinion it’s about 50-60 years old, and nothing has changed since then. The rooms are small, and the bathroom, toilet included, is about 1.5m2. The breakfast was another disaster. With an experience like that, how does this hotel have 3 stars? A room here should cost about 40,-€ max.

It’s worth the price aside from the room’s lack of AC and the broken ventilator. The place is by a main street, so at night the noise makes you close the window. Anyone staying there has to choose between heat and quiet, or cool air and loud noise.

The room is clean, but the bathroom is tiny, there’s no hairdryer or kettle, and the soundproofing is poor. It’s cold in the room when you get up early, and there may have been bugs on the bed.

We stayed for two nights, and it was better than I expected. I really liked the look of the bedroom, and the balcony view was pretty nice. Even though it’s in a small town, it’s very close to Vienna and Bratislava. I can’t wait to go back.
