There’s loads of room in these big, attractive rooms, even enough space to lay out clothes to dry. The bathroom works really well too: the shower stays contained, there are hooks, and it has ventilation. I especially liked the motion-sensor light in the hallway.

A downstairs shared toilet made it easy to come in from the yard without heading upstairs, and it was always spotless. The place also has a little bacon-cooking spot behind the house, a private kitchen, and a bigger kitchen with a huge dining room for family breakfasts. There are toys for the kids, too. It worked just as well for our large family as it would for two people. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

The hosts were lovely and checked with us each day about what we wanted for breakfast and dinner. My girlfriend and I stayed for a few days in mid-June 2014, in a nicely appointed upstairs room. Even with half board, it wasn’t expensive. We had a pleasant stay, thanks again. On a scale where 1 is very bad and 10 is perfect, I’d give it a 10.

When I visited a year ago, the owner greeted me warmly and gave me a bottle of wine as a welcome gift, saying it was his own. I left with a clean, pleasant feeling, and the stay was wonderful.

The landlady was so lovely, and had cookies and drinks waiting for us. The place itself was wonderful, very nice and clean. We’ll definitely return.
