Never again. It’s gone from a place we happily returned to and recommended to friends in 2021 to a boring, very disappointing one in 2022. The hamburger seemed bigger in my memory, but it was definitely better back then. And the gyros bowl certainly didn’t have even about ten pieces of meat, just tiny slices. I don’t think inflation explains it. Even bistros or bistro-style places would be hard pressed to charge more for a gyros bowl. The service was disappointing compared with what I’d experienced before too, with a phlegmatic student at the counter. The last straw was an outrageous service charge added to the group bill. When I pointed out that we hadn’t ordered salads, they added it without batting an eye. I doubt consumer protection would approve of an undisclosed charge like that. This place has fallen to two stars for me and is now not recommended.

The garden is really cozy, and we had lunch on the grill terrace one afternoon. The food there was impeccable. Breakfast is available too, a simple buffet with a limited selection, but what we had tasted good. It’s a family-friendly guesthouse in a busy area, with a kind welcome and quick check-in. Our room was basic but clean, with a TV and fridge. We knew when booking that it didn’t have air conditioning. There was a standing fan, but it was so dirty and smelly that we chose not to use it. The bathroom was quite small and had a bit of a communal feel. The mattress, on the other hand, was excellent.

We left angry and very disappointed, and won’t come back. We went for lunch after 3 pm with a small child. At first they told us they had soup and all kinds of food, but once we were tired and seated, they explained that after 2 pm there was only a lunch menu with about seven choices. They took our order, but half the drinks never arrived, and the food took a long time. When only half the group had been served, the chef came out and said the food was delicious. We told him that four of the seven people who’d received meals must have had it. He seemed surprised, went back to prepare the rest, and apologized, saying that was all he’d been told. We waited a long time again for the remaining food. Afterwards we also noticed the date had probably been added to the order.

Such a disappointment. Breakfast was terrible, and the room was full of problems: it was tiny, had no standard TV, a broken outlet, and a window that had been glued so it couldn’t open any wider. The bedding was in poor shape even though it had been changed, the bathroom smelled unpleasant, and there was dust and sticky stuff on the floor. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
