Ezerjó Ökofogadó

The rooms upstairs are on the small, warm side, but they worked well for sleeping and relaxing for an hour or two. The garden was lovely and well kept, with 2 cats, a very cute goat that climbs logs, quails, and bunnies. There’s a place to grill, and the lady even gave us onions. We were greeted by a very nice elderly couple, the host’s parents, who told us about the area and nearby things to do. They run a bicycle rental on the ground floor, so guests can go cycling too. There are plenty of sights nearby by car or bike. We had a really good experience and would recommend the guesthouse to everyone. P.S. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings.

The Saturday farmers market is worth a visit for all the treats and gifts. There’s so much nature around too: grazing cows, lambs, horses, and hunting falcons by day, then deer and foxes on the nearby roads after dark. We spent 4 nights at Ezerjó Eco-Inn in Őriszentpéter. The wooden cottage was friendly and close to nature while still modern and clean, and the owners were extremely kind, helpful, and flexible. The cats from the two houses were very friendly, the backyard goat was funny, and the bunnies were charming. The peace and quiet there is hard to describe, like an island of peace. I can only recommend it! ❤

Cheap, or just worthless?! We only rented bicycles. The guy said they were cheap, but not one of the lights worked, and he hadn’t mentioned it. We should have checked them ourselves, apparently. Because of that, after dinner on the first evening, we had to cycle “blindly” home with the kids. That’s a serious oversight. The chains came off, the gears only worked roughly, and some brakes were weak. My front wheel made such a racket I was afraid it would seize up and make me fall. We definitely won’t rent bikes here again.

The hosts were kind and helpful, and the yard was wonderful. It’s a very well-kept place in a quiet area, good for relaxing or getting together with friends. The center is just a few minutes’ walk away. You can park in the yard, and they accept credit cards. It’s ideal for children.
