Szidónia Castle

We spent three nights here as a family of three, and there was plenty to do: two pools, a spa, a basketball court, table tennis, and fitness facilities. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant food was really good. Lunch had a small buffet, but it was enough. The staff were all lovely, polite, helpful, and available. We’ll surely come back!

It feels like stepping into another time, and everything is very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, the indoor and outdoor pools are nice, the food is good, and the local wines are tasty. The service we got was fine too. There’s a gorgeous park with huge old trees, plus tennis courts. A good place to relax.

The hotel is tucked behind the church at the edge of a small village, so it’s nice and quiet. There’s an open-air parking lot, and the well-kept park with its tall trees makes for a pleasant 15-20 minute walk. Inside, the furnishings feel authentic, and the different halls are lovely places to spend a relaxed few days. The staff are attentive, polite, and well prepared. The restaurant is high quality, with a good selection that isn’t needlessly huge and a wide wine list.

The restaurant food was fantastic, and I want to thank the chef in charge. The hotel’s classic, elegant style makes a stay feel like a trip to another era. It’s a lovely place for a different sort of weekend, or even a day, if you want to put your worries aside and relax. Staff across the hotel were generally very nice. Some really tried to make guests feel welcome and gave excellent service, while others were a bit so-so. I’m satisfied with my visit overall.
