I liked the retro look, the Lake Balaton view, the beach, and the breakfast, which had a good selection. József Garányi's works are displayed on the ground floor. The staff seemed indifferent, and nobody told us dinner had to be ordered in the morning. Cleaning was poor and there was dirt in the rooms. We saw lots of spiders in the hotel, especially in the corridors, and even in rooms, where the mosquito nets didn't do their job well. The whole area isn't for people with arachnophobia or entomophobia. It varies from year to year, but the south part of Balaton is a safer choice.

Really tasty food, and I especially liked the lunch menus. The staff were very kind, which feels unusual in Hungary. There's also a good bar with good prices. :)

One guy was serving 50 people at the bar, and we waited an hour for a glass of beer. I've never seen such amateur service in the hotel business.

There were spiders everywhere, no hand soap, and the bed was loud and creaky. We asked in advance for lactose free lunch, but when it was time to eat they had nothing for us, despite charging a lot. The service was awful. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
