Luxury Spa And Conference Hotel

The room was nice, with a small glimpse of the lake between the hotel buildings. The restaurant was disappointing and didn’t feel up to hotel standards. Its layout was awful for guests: the food warmers were right by the doors, so the line started outside the restaurant.

One star only because there’s no minus 99 option. I really don’t understand how anyone can give this place 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. How can such a dirty, bad smelling place be called luxury? The smell hit us at reception and was just as bad in the rooms, like a strong kitchen odor from someone cooking in the room. It was 27 degrees in the room, and the AC was off throughout the building. Reception told me, “AC isn’t running yet because it’s not summer. If you don’t like it, you’re free to leave and cancel the booking without a charge.” One room was missing the shower pipe and head, so they gave me the passcode for another room. That one smelled even worse and had no towels. All this for 85€ a night. Run away. Where’s the respect for customers?

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The room was so dirty I couldn’t see the windows, and it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for ages. The furniture was broken, the balcony was unusable because it was full of spiders and flies, the toilet was dirty, and the shower was covered in mold. The whole room smelled moldy. When we told reception, they said they’d come back to clean and replace the broken furniture, but nobody ever came. We asked again, and after three nights we didn’t have warm water either. We emailed them about all the problems and got no reply, as if nothing had happened. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

There’s a lovely choice of food at dinner, with something to suit all sorts of tastes, and the dishes were delicious. The hotel is right by Lake Balaton, in a great spot. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had the essentials thoughtfully provided. We also had two terraces, one small one facing the parking area and a larger one overlooking the lake.
