Plage Hotel Siófok

I wouldn't stay here again. There were 12 spiders in our room, in every corner, behind the curtains, and even inside the lamps. It looked as though the room hadn't been cleaned. We had just one towel for two people, no toilet paper, and had to empty the bins ourselves. The reception was the worst part. I'd never seen a hotel reception in such a messy state, and it made me feel sick.

The food was really tasty, and our room had a working fan and mini fridge. We were lucky to have somewhere on the balcony to hang wet clothes, though I noticed the other balconies didn't have that. The lake, also called "the Beach of Hungary," is right nearby, and there’s a billiard thing downstairs. There's no lift. The room looked and smelled bad and wasn't cleaned properly. There were also lots of strange little yellow bugs. WiFi worked for a while, then stopped at random and rarely came back. We asked them to fix it, but I don't think they did. It's fine if you aren't looking for luxury.

I can recommend this place, since everything else was great. The room lost a star for not having air conditioning. There was a fan, but with temperatures staying around 38 degrees during the day, it didn't really keep the room comfortable.

The building is old and demoralising, and really should be renovated. With no lift, we had to climb the stairs. The rooms were overpriced and had no air conditioning. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels, and there was no soap or anything else in the bathroom. The towels they gave us were small hand towels.
