The view was nice, and the place was tidy and good value. It turned out better than I expected at first, but a few hassles kept me from giving it the top rating. We didn't stay long enough to know whether some things, like the washing machine, worked. The Wi-Fi was down on the first day, which made planning the next day's activities difficult. When it still wasn't working the day after, I asked for help. The owner showed me five phones where it worked and suggested I'd written down the password incorrectly. He wouldn't let me check the settings on his phone, and when I offered to look at the router, he said his husband would check it later. Eventually, after some effort, we agreed to unplug and reconnect the router, and then the Wi-Fi worked. The shoe rule was inconvenient too. We had to leave our shoes in the hallway to get to the room, so each trip to the car meant taking them off and putting them back on. I understand the carpeted stairs need cleaning, but it didn't feel practical or hygienic for guests. The bathroom ventilation could be better, and the room got humid after showers. The tap also dripped. Guests are expected to take out their own rubbish, which felt unpleasant for this kind of accommodation.
