Hotel Pannonia was a perfect mix of classy retro style and modern features. We stayed two nights, and the bathroom in our suite was superbly equipped and looked like new. The chandeliers throughout the hotel, including the breakfast room and both rooms in our suite, added to the feel. There’s even a photo of the bedroom ceiling. The hotel is very close to the old city center in Sopron. Staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent in a spectacular room with retro upholstered chairs and white tablecloths. It may sound like a small detail, but the scrambled eggs were fabulous, easily the best I’ve had in years. Hotel Pannonia is definitely the place to stay in Sopron!

The classic palace-style interior may not suit everyone, but if you like that kind of decor, the hotel is quite nice. Its location is convenient too.

Breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and polite. We were cycling across Europe, and they let us keep our bikes in the covered hotel car park. The hotel sits on the town's main street, with a few cafes and restaurants nearby. The foyer and reception feel very grand. Our room was large but quite dated, perhaps in keeping with the hotel's age, and it was quiet.

The location is great, the staff are good, prices are reasonable, and the buffet breakfast is excellent. The fitness room is better than average, and the heritage decor gives the rooms and furnishings a stately feel. Still, management seems too cheap to steam-clean the carpets from time to time, or maybe they just don't notice the smell. That keeps this from being a four-star hotel for me. I'm also not sure why the torn old lobby sofas are still there when most of the furnishings are in good shape. Wi-Fi is only so-so in some rooms.

The staff were very efficient at both check-in and check-out, and Mr. Bokan was especially kind and helpful. My room was large, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was decent, and having a garage was handy. Great stay for the price.
