Taverna Panzio

There are loads of grocery stores, restaurants and shops just a few minutes away on foot, and the place is usually quiet. The VOLT Festival venue is a bit far, but getting back by taxi takes only a couple of minutes. Our apartment was spacious and well equipped, and the owner, host and staff were all very friendly. For me, the price was good for the quality. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay.

We left room 5 a few hours ago, and I’m still struggling to find the words for this stay. You can get through one night here. For a longer visit, I’d only suggest it to people who enjoy searching their room for one mysterious spot after another. The walls were paper thin, so we could hear our neighbors’ private conversations. The furniture throughout was creaky and outdated. The floor, towels and bathroom didn’t look properly cleaned, and flushing the toilet was practically an Olympic sport. Our room was uncomfortably cold, and walking barefoot on the tiled floor felt like skating. There were stains on the sheets, and we couldn’t figure out where they came from. If basic hygiene rules were a crime, the police wouldn’t be looking for the Taverna guesthouse. The location was fine, with the mall a 10-20 minute walk away and restaurants nearby. The employees were lovely and caused us no problems. Breakfast tasted like food from an elementary school cafeteria.

Never again. The bed creaks whenever you turn over, and the towels had cobwebs on them even though they were clean. There were radish stains too, ahh....

The heating was pretty weak in some rooms, and one room didn’t have it at all. They gave me another room instead. Paying by card was a real challenge. Still, it was okay for one night.
