My wife, our three kids, and I stayed here, and as my daughter put it, “this hotel is a 5 star for kids.” I try to visit 2-3 places around Hungary each year with a similar standard, and this has become my favorite. I loved the owner's story, and the nearby castle is fantastic. The csarda, the show, and all the other things around the area made it even better. Each family had its own table for breakfast and dinner, which kept things simple and avoided anyone having to compete for a table. Like others who've commented, we'll definitely be back.

The staff were kind and quick, and the food tasted good, though vegans didn't have many choices. The pool by the brick wall was especially lovely during the day. Evenings were another matter: an older man with a really nice voice played very old-fashioned Hungarian songs, the kind that were popular 40 years ago. It killed the evening mood and made people sleepy, so by around 22 pm people were heading to their rooms. There wasn't any other music in the bar or by the pool. Smoking isn't allowed on the balcony, but you can smoke by the restaurant tables right beside the children's pool. If the hotel wants people to have drinks at the bar, some music from this century would help.

We came away feeling ten years younger. The thermal spa hotel has delicious food made with ingredients from its own farm, and the panoramic views of Sümeg castle are stunning.

We spent three days and two nights here at the end of September. The area is ideal for hiking and biking, though there are no bikes to rent, so I was glad I'd brought mine and got plenty of use out of it. The room was large, very clean, and neat, and the reception staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were abundant and delicious. The restaurant was very baby friendly, which matters a lot to us, and it met all our expectations. I didn't get time to try the wellness area, but it looked nice. The one thing I missed was a bidet in the toilet. I'd definitely recommend the place.
