Diavolo Balaton Haz Apartments

Wow.

The only real plus for us was that the beach was four minutes away. We booked a fairly cheap stay at Diavolo for three adults, no children. I know someone might say that what follows is because we didn't pay 10-15 thousand per person per night, but that shouldn't mean the accommodation can't be clean, calm, and comfortable enough to rest. We weren't asking for anything special. The dog in the yard barked constantly. It seemed afraid of people, and perhaps they could have kept it away from guests. A very drunk woman was supposed to clean up after it, but I won't go into that. We woke at 6am to the sound of a flex. There was no wifi, even though it was advertised, though we hadn't planned to spend our time online. I wish that had been the extent of it. At midnight, while my girlfriend and I were out for an evening walk, my mother called me in tears, trembling, and told us to come back right away. A man with a knife was running through the yard and then the street. The police were outside. We left immediately because the situation was unbearable. I can't imagine how frightening it must have been for any children staying there. We paid for three nights but only stayed two, and weren't given a bill. Now we're on a train for three hours, with no idea how or when we'll get home. Yesterday there was another similar post about this place, but it has disappeared. If anyone wants to know more, I can give the hotel's name. It’s Diavolo, though I doubt that changes anything. They advertise it for 8500 HUF. I hope others will speak up too. Not everyone can spend 20 thousand, since people don't all earn 5-600 thousand, but that doesn't mean a cheaper place has to be bad. Have a good summer and a restful holiday, everyone.
