Marika Vendeghz

We had the whole place to ourselves for a weekend with friends, so we could make the most of the huge backyard and pool. There was plenty of room to relax outside, among all the trees and plants, which made it feel even more restful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Cleanliness could use a little work, especially in the kitchen, where the cleaning could have been more thorough.

The woman we met was really helpful, though she didn’t speak English. The room was quite clean, and the stay was a good experience.

My first stay was good. On the second visit, though, I found the toilet hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. I was really disappointed and disgusted.

The garden is beautiful, and there’s even a swimming pool. Room options include different layouts and bed combinations, while prices seem reasonable. Marika guest house is about 2 km from the dead center of Szeged, an easy walk of 15 minutes at most. The owners speak Hungarian and German and understand some English, and everyone was pleasant and nice. One thing to note, there’s no water and free Wi-Fi, and breakfast can be added for an extra amount in euros. A great place to rest and spend time in this lovely city!
