The outdoor pool was filthy, full of leaves and dead insects, and seemed not to have been cleaned or maintained. We were also looking forward to using it. The jacuzzi was another letdown: just still, cold water, with no bubbles and not even lukewarm. We’d especially been looking forward to the jacuzzi. I’d called Gottwald Hotel before visiting because other reviews said parts of the Wellness & Spa barely worked. The man on the phone assured me all the saunas, the jacuzzi, the main pool, and the outdoor pool were working. The receptionist was kind and helpful, and using the lockers was easy. The main pool was clean and working, which we were glad about. But only one of the four saunas was operating. The one at the far left seemed fine on our first visit, but when we returned about 10 minutes later, it had lost all its steam and was cold. One of the other saunas was being used to store a floormat and assorted bits. Since the only working one drew everyone in the Wellness area, it became far too crowded. We’d also hoped to take a pleasant walk around the green grounds and see the animals I’d heard were there. Instead, construction was going on everywhere, with half-finished sections, fences, dirt, concrete, and dirty equipment scattered around. It wasn’t romantic or pleasant at all. We were really disappointed with the visit, and at 5500 forints each, it wasn’t worth the money.

I stopped in for lunch and was impressed by the friendly service, tasty food, and fair price. Recommended.

We came hoping to rest after a long journey, but couldn’t sleep because loud guests were shouting, talking, and playing music for almost the whole night. We reported it to reception twice, but nothing effective was done and the noise continued until early morning. A very disappointing stay.

I was staying here as a sponsored guest, and the service left me really disappointed. My uniform got dirty, so I asked reception if I could use the washer, dryer, and iron. The receptionist said no and didn't suggest another option. For such a simple, reasonable request, I expected more help and a better attitude. If zero stars were possible, that's what I'd give.

The sauna and jacuzzi were excellent 👌 The people were really nice too, and when something wasn't quite right, the hosts sorted it out kindly. The kids were all happy, so I was happy too :)
