The setting at Hotel Penta Lux was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a decent enough range to get the day started. A practical, no-fuss place to stay in Tata.

I’ll add Penta Lux to my regular 2,500 km drive as a stopover. The country lane and unexpected location might give you pause, but the hotel itself is an impressive find. My bedroom was nicely equipped and had a balcony. The heating worked so well that I had to turn it down before the room was comfortable for sleeping. I arrived too late and tired to look for food, then left before breakfast, so I can’t comment on either. The local wine was excellent. I also missed the spa, jacuzzi and sauna, which looked very inviting.

It’s a small, cozy hotel in quiet surroundings, close enough to walk to Tata Lake. You can borrow bikes to ride around the lake, and restaurants are also within walking distance, though the hotel doesn’t serve lunch or dinner. The spa is tiny, really only comfortable for four or five people, but it’s enough for a refresh. Breakfast was fair, with fruit, sausages, eggs, yogurt, coffee and kalács. I enjoyed the stay, apart from one small thing: there was no hairdryer in the room.

Just 200 meters from the lake, this was a very quiet hotel with clean, nice rooms. The woman at the desk was super friendly.
