Botaniq Castle Of Tura

Really disappointing. The castle and restaurant aren't open, but the website doesn't clearly say so. Emails go unanswered, and the person who picks up the phone speaks only Hungarian.

We stayed for the two-night minimum as wedding guests, and there was plenty to enjoy beyond the celebration. We could use the spa and grounds during our stay, and with the venue privately hired, it was lovely to relax there with the wedding party. The spa had a sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pools, a salt room, and a relaxation area. For something more active, there were tennis courts, a gym, and a good running path. The grounds were beautifully kept, with lots of scenic spots for photos. The rooms felt every bit as luxurious as the castle. Each one was different, with thoughtful details. The bridal suite had an open-plan bedroom and study, a separate large lounge, a private dining room, and a 180° balcony overlooking the grounds. The wedding was possibly the most extravagant one I've ever attended, like something from a fairytale. Four areas were used: welcome drinks on the terrace, which had its own bathrooms so guests didn't need to go back to the castle; a lawn ceremony decorated with hydrangeas and a wave of flowers; a marquee with an outdoor cocktail bar and an impressive buffet beside the seating; and an indoor dance floor and bar lit up like a disco ball. The whole venue and hotel made a big impression. If you're thinking of having your wedding here, it won't disappoint.

The food, gardens, views, and beautifully decorated rooms all added to the luxurious feel, and the people were lovely too. I had a magical stay and would recommend it to anyone heading to Budapest. The autumn colours were a nice bonus.

The main letdown was dinner: there weren't many vegetarian choices, and the desserts were minimal. Otherwise, it was an amazing stay. We were given a free upgrade to a very spacious room with all the modern facilities, and the service was excellent, from reception to the waitresses. Everyone was polite and professional. The spa was clean, quiet, and really relaxing, with top-notch facilities. The castle and surrounding area were spotless and beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury.
