Lovely place and great personal service.

We spent two nights here and I can only recommend it. The rooms were beautiful and clean, with tasteful furnishings, and the bathroom was clean too. The owner was kind and helpful. It’s close to the city center, but the street isn’t busy. You can reach everything with a short walk.

The attic room got quite warm without air conditioning, so we left the windows open. Luckily there were no mosquitoes, though there’s no mosquito net. The room has two 140 cm wide double beds, which is great, and they’re comfortable too. I’m a poor sleeper, so it was a little noisy for me and I used earplugs. The room was clean and tidy, with bed linen and towels. Booking, administration, and information were all handled very nicely and correctly. The castle is very close, about a 15-minute walk. The bus stop is a 2-minute walk away, and the train station is 20 minutes by bus, route 4 or 4A. We were sorry that most of the castle is closed right now for major renovation. We’ll have to visit again once it’s finished, and we’ll stay here again.

The room was full of cobwebs, and the shower barely had any water pressure. The fridge didn’t cool, and the Wi-Fi was weak, slow, and rarely usable. We paid 50 thousand forints for two nights expecting a superior room, but the service didn’t come close. I wouldn’t recommend it. There are cheaper, better-kept places in nearby towns.
