The staff were very kind and willing to show guests around, and there's a relaxed, affordable bar/restaurant with Tesco across the street. The garden must be lovely in summer, and the place has a strong homely feel. I usually prefer larger hotels, though some people will really enjoy feeling as if they're in someone's house. I can picture a group having relaxed evenings together here. With some of the issues addressed, it could suit someone from the city looking for a bit of suburban downtime and day trips around this beautiful region. My experience may be a little unfair to the better rooms, since they aren't all in one building and their quality seems to vary a lot. I was probably in the weakest option. In my building there was no shared kitchen, no shampoo (there was soap), and no hair dryer or iron. The pillows and shower towels weren't very comfortable, the entrance was a bit messy, and the temperature was fixed at 21 °C unless you called someone to come and change it. Both WiFi options were quite weak. Check-in was only possible from 2 P.M., and the place was closed before then, so I couldn't even leave my things at reception. The check-in staff were polite and helpful, fluent in German and a bit less so in English, but communication was totally functional.

We got a good price with the szép card, and the room and courtyard felt cozy. But cleaning and maintenance seemed neglected. The room was too cold in summer, and I was outside the hotel's WiFi range, so I had no connection there. Road noise could also be heard from inside.

The host was lovely, and the room was clean and nice, with its own bathroom. It's in a central location.
