Crocus Gere Bor Hotel Resort & Wine Spa

Right in the heart of Villány, this comfortable hotel has wine bars and convenience stores just around the corner. The restaurant makes tasty traditional Hungarian food, and their beef tartare with meat from an indigenous grey cow is worth special mention. The welcome was warm, the service efficient, and I'd love to return soon.

The restaurant served fantastic Hungarian food with an elegant presentation. I also loved the cozy lobby bar, a nice place to have cocktails and chat. There are great facilities too: a sauna, infrared sauna, jacuzzi, and pool.

It was an absolute delight staying here. The rooms were comfortable, Renata and the rest of the staff were hospitable, and the food was comforting and delicious. Probably the most beautiful hotel in the quaint village of villányi.

Breakfast is pleasant, and every morning the staff makes pancakes for our son even though they're not on the menu. We usually book one of the larger rooms when we're in Hungary, which is once or twice a year for 3-5 days. They're nice, though not especially luxurious, and the garden is lovely. My wife enjoys the massages too. As far as I can tell, this is the best hotel in Villany, but I find dinner overcomplicated. They're aiming for fine dining, which doesn't work for me here. I come to Villany for generous portions of simple, tasty Hungarian food with good red wine. Instead, I often get a tiny serving with flowers on the side and wonder how to enjoy my wine without enough food. Give dinner a try, but if you share my preferences, Hétfogás down the road is a better fit. I'd rate it 4.5 stars because of the price. With massages and some dinners, I usually pay 150k HUF per night, which feels a bit high.
