A cute little pension on the upper end of Villany’s main street, in a handy spot for visiting the different cellars. They serve their own wine, which we liked, and breakfast was generous and good, made with good ingredients. The rooms have everything you need for a short stay.

We brought our large dog, and the staff welcomed him kindly. They were attentive and helpful throughout, and the prices felt fair with no hidden charges. There’s a continental buffet breakfast, plus hot dishes you can order. We also had some great dinners, including knuckle, souvlaki chicken breast in bacon, and vegetarian vegetable gnocchi. Vinatus is a dog-friendly restaurant, wine cellar, and five-room inn at the start of the cellar row in Villány. The kitchen is excellent, and they serve their own wines as well as bottles from other local cellars. Down in the restaurant cellar there’s a refined event room with a knight’s hall feel. The inn’s rooms are small but comfortable for two, and both they and the bathrooms look brand new. Everything was clean, even under the bed and on top of the wardrobe. For the area’s tourist traffic, the price-to-value ratio is absolutely acceptable.
