The food was good.
If you're a blue hiker hoping to fall into bed and relax at night, this isn't ideal. Retiree groups who want to lounge beneath the window late into the night may find it suits them. The bathroom didn't make a good impression either: when I saw that the previous guest hadn't flushed the toilet and nobody else had taken care of it, I knew it was going to be an interesting part of the stay.
There are dining options on site, and the location is handy: a shop is three minutes away, while the abbey church and arboretum are an eight-minute walk. The backyard has room to sit and chat under the walnut tree. A bus can park in the front yard, with more space on the street even for a large bus. It's a large guesthouse spread across several buildings, with simple, comfortable options ranging from a single bed to a clay house. These are traditional, inexpensive retro rooms, so don't come expecting luxury.
The service was kind, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. Thank you.
The youth hostel rooms are basic but clean, and the prices are very fair. The food has a retro feel but was prepared excellently. Service was really nice, and they helped with all our requests.
