Hotel Griya Katarina

Griya Katarina is a handy option for families, with individual rooms and group villas to choose from. It's near Gua Maria Kerep, the Ambarawa Railway Museum, and Fort William 1. They currently serve breakfast only, with no lunch or dinner, though there are several small restaurants in front of Griya for everyday meals. Breakfast focuses on local specialties.

Great value for money. It's quiet and peaceful, and my room was clean. Street vendors selling food and drinks are easy to find nearby. Being close to Gua Maria Kerep adds to the appeal of this modest hotel.

A quiet, sparkling clean place in Kerep, Ambarawa District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province. It has modern European-style architecture and an elevator. The room had AC, TV with free channels only, and a water heater, plus coffee, tea, and sugar bags. The hot shower was fine. Free Wi-Fi was good (4/5), and breakfast was okay (4/5). Food shops and a minimarket nearby stay open until late. I'd give it five stars if not for a couple of mistakes. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom; after we complained, the room staff apologized and fixed it. The night receptionist was helpful, but in the morning a staff member carelessly asked us to pay, even though I'd already paid by Visa. She apologized after I showed her my booking.com application.

The location was great, the room clean, and the staff very friendly. The bathrooms weren't clean, but the owner was a nice gentleman and said he would address it. We'd definitely stay here again.
