Pacific Hotel Ambon

The food was good quality, though the menu can be limited sometimes. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It's a clean, welcoming place, and one of the better low-cost places I've stayed.

The rooms include a sufficient breakfast, hot shower, kettle with small sachets of instant coffee, TV, Wi-Fi, and a small empty fridge. They also leave a local newspaper and two tiny bottles of water each morning. There are plenty of parking spaces for hotel customers across the building. I've stayed at this two-star hotel a couple of times. On my first visit, the receptionist couldn't register me before 7 am because “the computer system” wasn't working, which left me baffled. What's the point of a system that acts moody? It's an okay budget hotel. The small pool is usually cloudy from the chlorine, so I wouldn't bother with it. The island's famous beaches are a better option for swimming.

For Rp285K a night, this is a very good affordable place to stay in Ambon. I was in room 703, which was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. It's also well located, within walking distance of the city center.

The service is nice and the place is good. They could cut down on plastic, though, and avoid using so much of it.
