Stori Hotel Ambon

I stayed here after the COVID-19 pandemic while passing through on my way to Banda Neira. The AC and hot shower worked properly, and the bed was decent, though my bed cover had a hole. The room clearly hadn’t been maintained well: there were mold and water leak stains across the walls, ceiling, and even the blind. The floor was sticky, like it had been mopped with sugar water, and the toilet seat cover was detached.

At the low price, cheaper than anywhere else in Ambon, it’s OK. But when you want to extend your stay, they’ll charge twice as much. Either book online again or be ready to move. The staff are clueless about some basic things they ought to know. Indonesians are generally nice and greet you with “hello mister,” but in a hotel, service should go beyond that.

I only stayed one night before heading to seram island and had no bad experience. There are lots of ojek (motor taxis) near the hotel at reasonable prices. Save the driver’s number so they can pick you up again. It made getting around the city easier for me.

Some guests can be noisy, and the old hotel has stains on the walls and floor. One staff member came into our room by mistake without knocking. The other staff were fairly kind.
