Agusta Eco Resort

We spent a week at Agusta Eco Resort with the family and had a great time. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. For anyone who loves diving, its spot in the middle of the Raja Ampat marine park makes getting to most dive sites easy. Melissa Garden, The Passage, and others are within about an hour by boat.

We really loved our week at AGUSTA and gave it 5 stars, even with a few suggestions for the owner. The island is lovely, with each bungalow set on a white sand beach facing the sea. We stayed in a spacious family room with quiet, effective air conditioning, good beds with great nets, and a cool terrace. There's also a great freshwater pool and a fun pontoon where you can watch fish and reef sharks in the evening. The team was nice and efficient. Our dive master, Claudio, knew the sites well, and we saw lots of unusual marine life typical of Raja. The boats were nice, too. The local manager and the dive masters speak decent English. The resort is well located in the heart of Raja Ampat, so most dive sites are easy to reach, and the team's transfer from the Sorong Waisai ferry took an easy, efficient hour. A few things could be better. There's a positive Italian touch to the food, but it could use improvement and some training. The spa could benefit from training too, though the lady there is nice. Some dive shop gear, including shoes, masks, and combis, is getting old and could be maintained better. Most people bring their own equipment anyway, and the tanks and stab were perfect, which is the main thing. The showers and bathrooms have a slight smell, though we understand how hard it is to fix everything in a remote place. I'd checked the lower comments before booking and was a little worried, but they clearly weren't accurate. AGUSTA is a great resort for the money.

The real wonder started once I put my head underwater. I was only snorkeling, but the guides were amazing and so friendly, and seemed to know every fish and coral around Raja Ampat. Above water was lovely too. The small island feels like paradise, and Marco and Mara have made the clean wooden cottages into a rustic, wild home away from home. The food was amazing, especially considering how far away the place is, and the local staff were lovely. It was one of my best experiences ever. I hope I can return many times, and I'll never thank them enough.

At Agusta Eco Resort I felt at home right away. The cottages were really clean, the food was great, and kindness was everywhere on this little island that feels like paradise. Marco and Mara were always available and helpful, trying to meet every guest's requests. The long trip slipped my mind as soon as I was underwater. The dives in Raja Ampat are among the most beautiful in the world. I usually don't return to the same place when I travel, but I'll make an exception. This part of the ocean has stayed in my heart.
