The gardens are lush, and there was usually relaxing music playing during the day. The oceanside restaurant has pretty views and a nice coastal breeze. Staff were lovely and helpful, the drinks were good, and I felt fine about the ice and food. The bed was firm and comfortable, breakfast came with a lovely fruit platter, and there was a water dispenser in the room. I also used the transport offer. The driver was friendly, flexible, and reliable. I stayed five nights in room 11, a king suite with ocean view and plunge pool. For me, this is three-star accommodation. The food is basic, so I preferred eating out for dinner. People are always trying to get you to spend more. You can’t flush toilet paper. The wardrobe is too short for dresses, so I had to fold mine. Wi-Fi was sometimes poor and unreliable. I skipped the massage because it didn’t meet my hygiene expectations, though my partner enjoyed their 30-minute vitalise massages. There were a lot of room issues. The aircon smelled musty and didn’t cool well at low temperatures. Its LED light lit the room at night, and water dripped onto the pillows, leaving them musty. There were no pillow protectors under the cases, the sheets were stained, cleaning was superficial, and there were spider nests in the curtains. The plunge pool wasn’t clean or clear and had lots of detritus. Shower pressure varied from good to a dribble, and there was nowhere to put suitcases, so I had to use a couch. Smoke and bad smells from early morning fires got into the room, which was opposite the smokers’ area. The bathroom had seriously funky smells, too. Maintenance was poor: the door needed repair when we arrived, then the aircon stopped working, followed by the fan. The outdoor and pool lights didn’t work, the bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and the bathroom lights flickered. There were no face cloths or hand towels.
