Hotel Segara Agung

We booked at the last minute because of unexpected circumstances, but the neglect was worse than we were prepared for. The room was unacceptably dirty, with visibly grimy surfaces and a poorly maintained bathroom that felt unhygienic. It didn’t look as though basic housekeeping had been done before we arrived. The common areas showed the same lack of care and seemed neglected for a long time. I rarely leave a one-star review, but this stay earned it. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and makes immediate improvements.

For the price, the hotel is okay, but my garden suite badly needed renovation. There was mould in the bathroom, and the ceiling looked like it might collapse at any moment. Breakfast choices were limited, and the self-serve coffee was weak. They only had beer and soft drinks, no cocktails.

We found bedbugs in our first room, and nobody seemed to care or do anything about it. We had to pay for our own laundry after the hotel refused to cover it. They moved us to another room, but there were bedbugs there too, crawling on the bedside table. The rooms were so dirty, and the bedsheets had bloodstains from the bedbugs. After we decided to leave for another hotel, the manager refused a refund and said we had to go through Booking.com. He wasn’t helpful, and we knew we wouldn’t get our money back. Once we complained, the hotel stopped answering the phone and rejected both our complaint and Booking.com’s calls. We still haven’t been refunded for the six nights we had left. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Avoid this place at all costs.

The pool and garden looked nice, and breakfast was basic but provided. But my “Superior” room at Segara Agung Boutique Hotel was disappointing. The walls, curtains, and bed linens were dirty and worn, and the bathroom smelled musty, with dirty tiles and broken fixtures. The condition of the room affected my stay, and the hotel should invest in maintenance and renovations. At check-in they also made me sign a non-refundable policy. I wonder if that was to cover themselves given the state of the room :)
