NESA Sanur Bali

Nessa is just off Sanur’s main street, near a PADI Dive shop and a short walk from the beach and its long walkway. We’d definitely book again. Leah gave us a warm, chatty welcome and explained what to expect for Balinese New Year Nyepi. We stayed for a few days in March 2026 and were shown to room 301, which looked out over the pool. It was spacious, with a comfortable king bed, soft linen and pillows, a big fridge-freezer, TV, chairs and a table. There was a wardrobe with a built-in safe, plus a huge bathroom with plenty of drawers, fluffy towels, a strong hot shower and complimentary toiletries. Two private doors opened onto different spots, one to a pool-facing terrace and the other to a peaceful garden patio with a fish-filled water feature. Breakfast was fantastic, with American and Continental options, pancakes, vegetarian dishes and eggs made fried, as an omelette, poached or scrambled. The menu also had lots of choices for lunch and dinner. Tea, coffee and refillable juices were available, and our room had a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee.

There are lots of little restaurants nearby, and the beach and shopping centre are close too. The whole place feels peaceful and laid-back. The staff were so kind and accommodating, and the pool was lovely for a dip after a hot day.

There’s plenty of shade around the pool, so if you like sitting in the sun, this probably isn’t the spot for you. The location is great, but music from outside was loud until 11pm every night. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, the room was just okay, and the bathroom smelled terrible. I’d personally have preferred to be downstairs.

It’s a small hotel with a nice, quiet getaway feel. The beach and its boardwalk are about a 10-minute walk away, and the location was excellent. Breakfast kept me full and had enough variety. The pool is small, but just right for cooling down after a hot day. Management and staff were friendly and responsive. I’d be happy to stay again.
