The location is great, but the building needs major renovation soon. There's mould on the bathroom ceiling, the Wi-Fi doesn't work, and the bathroom door wouldn't close. The staff was kind enough to fix the door.

The price is cheap, and I hope the hotel improves so it can compete better. I found some baby cockroaches when I went out for a while. The AC wasn't cold, and the TV picture was poor, with streaks and a bad signal. I'm sorry to bring this up, but I wanted to share what the room was actually like.

The room smelled mouldy, the AC was very hot, and the pillow smelled as if someone had been sweating on it for years. The actual condition is completely different from the pictures, and anyone choosing this hotel based on them will be extremely disappointed. It almost feels like fraud. I hope the hotel gets renovated soon, or closes. I don't want anyone else to have the bad experience I had. Thank you.

There wasn’t much in the way of amenities, so a friendly welcome would have helped. When I arrived, nobody greeted me or answered my hello. The receptionist took a long time to notice me while doing something at the desk, then asked for my booking details. The greeting felt cold.

Don’t be tempted by the low price. You may regret it. We paid for an Oyo room through the traveloka app and arrived in Balikpapan at 8 am. We went straight to the Oyo hotel near the airport to check in, showed proof of payment, and were turned away because check-in was only allowed after 2 pm. The receptionist spoke harshly and didn’t offer us a seat or kindly ask us to wait.
