For the price, I'm amazed. The woman managing the place is super friendly, and my room is clean, tidy and pretty spacious. There are free snacks and bottled water, plus a big bottle outside if you need more. There's a TV in the room, and a common area outside all the rooms where you can sit with other people and watch something. There's no AC, but it's about 10 degrees cooler than Jakarta, so the temperature is actually quite nice. A fan helps circulate the air if it gets too hot. The bathroom is clean and tidy enough, though it's a wet room and there's no sink or basin. As a westerner, I had to adapt when shaving and doing things like that, but I have no complaints about the bathroom. About the person below who mentioned not being able to stay with his girlfriend: Indonesia is a predominantly muslim country. Do your research before traveling. It's not the hotel's job to teach you about local culture. No drinking, smoking or, of course, drugs. Do your best to respect the area and people you visit.

There isn't a restaurant here, but you can go out for plenty of street food and groceries near the hotel. The owner is really friendly, and you can just ask him if you need something. The room is cheap, so keep expectations low. I suggest not bringing kids. A few things to know: the main gate is usually locked by another customer who has a key because they're paying yearly rent, so I'd avoid coming home late. Everyone is asleep by 10.00 PM. Couples need to bring a marriage certificate or something like that. The owner is very strict and won't negotiate without a legal certificate, and don't try to bribe him. The bathroom and toilet are a bit small. The toilet sometimes smells, so keep it closed when you're not using it. There was surprisingly hot water. The room was clean, and I got free snacks, mineral water, a towel and a shower kit, but no toothpaste or toothbrush. The TV has local channels. There's no AC, though there's a nice exhaust fan above the door.

The room looked really clean, so I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. But my girlfriend and I booked online through Traveloka for two people and four nights, and when we tried to check in together at 1pm, they wouldn't let us unless we showed an official marriage certificate. That's crazy. If I book a room for two, they should provide one for two, but that wasn't the case here. With rules like that, they shouldn't be listing the hotel with travel agencies. I can't recommend this place.
