De Batara Hotel

I was skeptical after finding such a cheap deal on TikTok, but the hospitality was great. The room was fairly spacious, clean, and smelled good, with an automatic air freshener. The bathroom was nice and not cramped. Recommended.

I was walking around Cihampelas Street and asked the receptionist where the travel office was. She greeted me politely and even pointed out the nearest accommodation. She was very kind. I’ll rent a room here next time I visit Bandung.

De Batara Hotel is well placed for getting around to popular Bandung spots, whether you’re going out to shop, eat, or sightsee. Even though it’s central, the hotel felt quiet and comfortable when I wanted to rest. The common areas and lobby were tidy and welcoming, and check-in went smoothly. Staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help, which made me feel looked after. My room was spacious, clean, and well kept, with fresh linens and a very comfortable bed. I liked the modern but warm design. The AC worked well, Wi-Fi was stable and fast, and hot water was reliable. Everything felt cared for, and I had a nice view of the surrounding area from the window. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and varied, with local food and a few simple international options. The restaurant was comfortable for eating alone or with family. For the affordable price, the comfort, cleanliness, and service were better than I expected. I had a really pleasant stay, and would happily return to De Batara Hotel on a future Bandung trip. Highly recommended for business, leisure, or a short getaway.

Parking was available and the concierge was good, but the phone didn’t work. There was a notice about this on a leaflet by the lift, yet the receptionist didn’t tell me at check-in, which was an issue. The coffee and tea amenities were limited to one of each. The shower and faucet controls were broken and didn’t work. Breakfast was the main disappointment. It was very limited and not good enough, so other guests might consider booking a room without it. The sink wasn’t in good condition, and the restaurant restroom was under maintenance. Even with these problems, I had a wonderful experience as a guest. I hope the hotel has the energy to keep going. Gan batte!
