The friendly staff, decent facilities, good food, and nice hotel design were positives, and the halls smelled good too. Still, I wasn't satisfied with my stay and probably wouldn't return, even with the hotel right in front of PVJ mall. I was in a superior room, where the sheets and blankets had stains and hair on them, so I asked to have them changed. The floors weren't very clean, and the bathroom floor was slippery and had a damp smell. If cleanliness improves, I might reconsider staying here when I'm in Bandung.

The food at De Java Hotel's restaurant was really good, with plenty of variety. I usually like sampling lots of hotel food and drinks, but after the noisy night I had little appetite and barely ate. It's a shame, because the food was great. I do appreciate how professionally the staff responded when we called about the neighbors, and they apologized. Those neighbors had been loud from around 8 PM and kept getting worse. The walls let through conversations clearly, and the neighbors started knocking and making sarcastic comments loudly after staff spoke to them. I don't mind people talking, but nighttime at a hotel should be for resting. They could have gone to a nearby café or mall to hang out. The hotel is very close to Paris Van Java Mall, and the room and bathroom were really nice for the affordable price.

We had connected rooms as requested, and they were spacious and clean. I really liked the Javanese decorations. The reception was attentive and helpful, and all the staff were great. We arrived before the rooms were ready, but when we came back our belongings had been put safely in the rooms. The location is remarkable, right across from PVJ, so we could leave the car at the hotel and walk around without driving. I got a very good rate through Traveloka. Even for just one night, we had a great experience, and I'll definitely return.

We came with kids, and the pool was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Both times we stayed, it was closed, once for a private birthday event and once for maintenance. We weren't told in advance or given an apology. Check-in was supposed to be at 2 PM, but the room wasn't ready until 3 PM. It wasn't clean, the bathroom smelled, and no one answered when we called room service. There were just 2 pillows in the room. We asked to borrow a spoon and bowl and were charged Rp25,000, which was shocking for basic items. With the pool unavailable and check-in delayed, it felt like guest experience didn't matter. For the price, it isn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend it for families. It's not family-friendly or service-minded.
