MyPodRoom Capsule Hotel

I booked for one day and arrived at 7 PM. The receptionist checked my ID and offered either an ID card or money as a deposit to protect the reservation and prevent fraud. Towels aren't included, but you can buy one there or bring your own. She handed over the locker room key and explained things, though some issues during my stay weren't mentioned. The place is very close to Braga Street, with food and entertainment nearby. Cleanliness matters a lot to me, especially in bathrooms, and the toilet and bathroom were very clean. The bed and sheets were clean too, and the mattress was comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard. The locker room had room for my tote and backpack. There are three bathrooms, some with soap, and a washbasin near the toilets. A pair of slippers is provided. The Pod Room has a rolling curtain for privacy and an international plug for US, Europe, and UK/Australia charging. There's also a room on the third floor to relax or eat, with bread and drinks, though I couldn't tell if the food was kept fresh and in date. A few things need attention. One bathroom had a broken water heater, and nobody told me before I took a very cold shower at midnight. Guests should check the water first, and customer service should give prior notice when confirming a booking. Of two bathroom washbasins, only one worked, and both seemed like they might fall, so they should be fixed before someone gets hurt. The toilet stalls are extremely tight, I had to squeeze between the wall and toilet to shut the door. The Pod Room reading lights were broken; only a very dim orange sleeping light worked, although staff lent me a small light. Those reading lights should be repaired for guests' comfort. The blanket was very thin.

After traveling around Asia for months, this was the worst mattress I've slept on. The bunk bed mattress was so soft it sank underneath me and left me with back pain. The bathrooms were cramped too, with barely enough room to squeeze between the wall and toilet to shut the door. Unfortunately, the hostel was disappointing.

The shared bathrooms could use a proper deep clean and some maintenance. Apart from that, it was a good stay. The beds were clean and reasonably comfortable, the staff were friendly, and we could leave our backpacks there on the last day before catching a bus. We also booked a White Crater tour through them, which was great. It's a nice little place in a very good Bandung location, ideal for a couple of nights, and I'd recommend it to other travelers.
