Hotel Nyland Pasteur Bandung

The room was spacious enough and the bed comfortable, so the price felt acceptable if you don’t have high standards. The bathroom leaked a little. I’m not sure whether the pandemic had anything to do with it, but the hotel seemed less maintained than it should be.

We stopped for one night without planning ahead and checked in at 10.00 pm. We got a Deluxe room for 416.000 rupiah, discounted from 550.000 because we arrived at night. The room was large and old, yet surprisingly cozy and comfortable even with the AC off. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but the bathroom wasn’t clean enough and breakfast was limited and not tasty. I’d recommend it if you’re staying around Pasteur and prefer a semi open door hotel over a closed building type. I can only give 3 stars, though. They should adjust the price to compete, since more modern hotels nearby can cost less, and improve the breakfast and bathroom hygiene.

Most rooms open toward the outdoors and parking area instead of a corridor, which gives the place a unique, open feel. The parking area is pleasant, set back from the main street and surrounded by trees. Bandung weather is usually pleasant, too. I wondered whether noisy cars might affect the stay, but my guests seemed fine so far. It worked well for a quick stop in Bandung. If you book a few rooms and want to hang out right outside them for a bit before exploring bandung, this is a good fit. I’d recommend it to people who prefer stepping outdoors from their room.

My superior room was near the pool, and it was cozy and quiet. The hotel looks old, but it’s still well maintained and a nice place to stay. There’s easy access to the main street.
