PELE Backpacker Guesthouse

We really appreciated how kind and helpful everyone at the guesthouse was. The spacious room had free WiFi, and breakfast was included, though it was nothing special. There are lots of other options right outside, too. I’d happily stay here again.

It’s in a quiet area near Cihampelas and ITB, though the walk to and from the location has some uphill and downhill stretches. The receptionist was friendly, but check-in took a while because they seemed confused by the booking list. Breakfast is free, with bread, mineral water, coffee, and tea available for self-service. There’s warm water and a TV, and the room is roomy enough for two. The lighting is dim and felt a bit spooky. The room smelled of cigarettes. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, and getting the shower to work was difficult. There were no bath amenities, and we got only one towel for a two-person room. The black sheets make stains hard to see. I also found a tiny cockroach on the mattress, and the exhaust fan was broken.

Budi answered all our questions and took such good care of us that we stayed an extra night at his house. Staying with him is a great way to experience Bandung like a local, and we had a memorable time. I could say much more about him, but you can experience it for yourself.

The lounge was a great place to hang out, and the WiFi was fast. Budi’s hotel is well located near lots of things and offers great value. I had an awesome stay and would book here again if I return to Bandung.
