SANS Family Hotel Bandung

The service was friendly, though several guards were smoking in front of the hotel. The rooms themselves were disappointing: there was a lot of black mold, holes in the bathroom ceiling, and a leaking showerhead with water stains. Some rooms lacked wall panels, so the design felt inconsistent.

This colorful family hotel has the usual budget-hotel feel. Be careful booking at the last minute during holidays, since prices can reach 400k++. You can pay extra for an extra bed or ironing, and the waiting room and parking are adequate. There’s no elevator to the 3rd floor, though, so it’s not elderly friendly. There is a smart TV, but the Wi-Fi was bad and the TV didn’t work well. There’s no local Samsek TV either, so it’s really just suitable for sleeping. Unfortunately, the rooms aren’t soundproof. Also, the female receptionist was very curt and unfriendly. I hope they improve that.

At check-in yesterday, the staff member was unclear and made things unnecessarily complicated. He told us to place an order through the app, saying it was for his friend and that he’d give him the cash later. At this hotel you can’t order manually, only through the app. I told him to download it himself, and he said he didn’t understand 🤨😩. I didn’t allow it because I felt really scared. This was a strange first for me, even though I staycation often 🫣.

The rooms were clean, and it’s a decent budget hotel. I booked two rooms with the same specifications on the hotel website, but they weren’t the same size: one was fairly spacious and the other felt cramped. Neither had windows.
