The Gaia Hotel Bandung

I didn't expect to enjoy my stay at GAIA Hotel Bandung this much. The food was good, better than I expected, and the forest and garden views were so calming in the morning. It also felt lively and warm while still being very kids-friendly, without getting overwhelming. There's so much to do without leaving the hotel: a pool, gym, pilates studio, sauna and spa, plus lovely pond and garden areas. It feels like a full wellness escape. I'd definitely come back.

We started the next day with morning yoga, and I was amazed by how many activities they offer. There's pilates and even rock climbing. I also checked out the green house, where the cactuses were gorgeous, then fed the koi in the pond. Gerandra kindly helped us take photos. At breakfast, Maja was a very nice gentleman and brought us Cuanki soup from the upstairs restaurant since it wasn't available downstairs. I booked a Club King room with breakfast and afternoon tea included. The building looks wonderful against the hillside, and the room was comfortable. With this room rate, we had a separate check-in reception and access to the exclusive lounge, where we enjoyed tea before going up. We hadn't realized there was a different reception area, but Shella showed us to the lounge. Rizki and Fajar helped with check-in, arranged the tea and sent our things to the room, so lovely. After the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, we had buffet dinner at the restaurant. It was just so-so. There are various food options, and the facilities make staying here worth the money, but personally I didn't like the food. I might return someday, though I'd rather eat outside.

We spent three days and two nights here for two company kick-off meetings, and the experience was outstanding. The room's design, layout, amenities and scent all felt thoughtfully put together. It had a beautiful view and a comfortable atmosphere that worked just as well for relaxing as for getting work done. Service was beyond what we expected, from the Concierge and Reception teams to the Restaurant staff and Housekeeping. Everyone was warm, friendly and attentive, and genuinely ready to help. A special thanks to Dudu, Aji, Nikita and Fariz for their professional, attentive service at our final dinner. They made the evening memorable. It's quite pricey, but I think the hotel is worth it. There's a lovely exclusive park with a big fish pond, reserved for hotel guests, and the pool is great for families and kids to splash around. Children can also enjoy lots of fun activities in the indoor playroom, and the fitness gym is well maintained. For food, the Indonesian restaurant serves tasty dishes for breakfast or lunch. The hotel's bakery has desserts and pastries, and Monomono is the Brazilian restaurant for dinner.
