de Azure Guesthouse

I paid in full for two nights. When I canceled online, the notice clearly said I'd only be charged one night's stay as the cancellation fee, but the homestay manager/owner wouldn't return the rest of the money I'd transferred to their account. I should have been more careful and not sent the full two-night cost right away. There are no signs or banners at all, and the place is remote, tucked into a residential area. The road is damaged and rocky, and getting public transport to or from the homestay is very difficult. The homeowner seemed friendly at first. When I tried to cancel because of how remote it was and the transport problem, the owner got angry, wouldn't hear me out, and interrupted me.

The room is very comfortable, and it looks more like a three-star hotel than a homestay. But some things let it down: there aren't enough toiletries, the garage isn't clean, and the breakfast is extremely cheap. For the price, serving only yellow rice in plastic bags with no side dishes feels disappointing. Management could put more thought into breakfast for guests.

The room was fine, great even. Such a shame the breakfast was so basic.
