Hotel Nagoya 68 Batam

If you're out most of the day and only need somewhere to sleep, this place is good enough. The room and toilet were clean and in good shape. The hotel has three floors but no elevator, and the Wi-Fi may be unreliable depending on your room and floor. The air conditioner looked fairly new, but took a long time to cool the room, possibly because of an installation issue. Lucky Plaza is a three-minute walk away, where you can get a data SIM for $5. Nagoya Hill Mall is about five minutes on foot. At night there are street food vendors along the road, and a chicken rice place next door is open 24 hours.

I enjoyed my stay. The price was very affordable, and having a universal adapter in the room was a thoughtful touch. Indomaret and Alfamart are nearby, and there’s street food right out front at night.

Before it partnered with RedDoorz, I liked this hotel. Its location was handy, close to both Lucky Plaza and Nagoya Hill Mal, and there was a Chinese restaurant next door with plenty of food and drinks. It opened at 4:00 pm and closed at 7:00 am. I’ve had bad experiences with RedDoorz and don’t consider it a professional agent. I booked and stayed here before the partnership, so I can’t say what the hotel is like since joining.

The place smelled of smoke, had no windows, and there were stains on the bed that looked like drops of blood. The shower had very little water pressure, I saw baby cockroaches, and security seemed poor. Don’t trust the photos. I booked through the hotel website and paid a little extra, but they directed us to the 81 inns branch. It’s partnered with reddoorz, though it isn’t even the official reddoorz hotel. I felt scammed.
