It’s handy if you’re leaving from Harbour Bay the next day, with direct access at the ferry harbour. Wey Wey Seafood is within walking distance. Good place for a family, with a fifth-floor swimming pool, gym and hot water sauna. We did have a delay getting into our room because of the management in charge. The service team, though, was polite, quick and helpful.

We rented a one-bedroom apartment and had a beautiful view. Security was very good, and the swimming pool was very clean. The location is Harbour Bay, one of the liveliest places on Batam island. We could relax with our family on weekends and walk around to get what we needed, even without a vehicle.
(UPDATE) Since activities returned to normal in June 2022 during the COVID recovery, Harbour Bay Residence has become Batam’s new entertainment hub. It’s well designed and has a gym, pool and amenities. The area used to be very noisy, with bars and clubs playing loud music until 4 am, but things improved over the six months from January to June 2022. M1 still needs to tone it down for the HB residence. The car park opposite the Harbour Bay Apartments has turned into food stalls and a stage, with events almost every week that close the car park. HBA tenants have to put up with bands, DJs and compares blasting into their rooms for long and short-term stays. The noise is unacceptable, usually starting at 3 pm and going late, around 10 pm to midnight. Management needs to choose an area that doesn’t disturb tenants or add to Harbour Bay traffic. Management at the HB also needs to review the noise levels and improve entry and exit, which are too slow and bring too much traffic. I update this with new night pictures as Harbour Bay changes every month, so you can see what’s new on the HB scene, from old venues to new ones. There’s plenty of choice in restaurants and bars, and I’ve included pictures from lockdown too. Construction is underway at the old HB shopping centre for a new hotel.
These residences are right by the Harbour Bay ferry terminal, making them an accessible option for traveling to and from Singapore. The area isn’t very developed yet, though you can see a lot of development coming up nearby.
The stay was really bad. They did move me from room 5-03 to 9-09, but the service was poor and the replacement room was only less damaged. I’m giving two stars because of the location. The check-in experience was awful too: the reception isn’t for check-in, and you have to check in through their WA hotline and send your identification details, including your passport, through WA. There was no privacy.
