Right after checking in, we booked a different place. The sheets had stains and holes, the door locks were rusty, and the walls were stained and moldy. Everything felt old and poorly maintained, and the lights were very dim. The narrow stairs would be tough if you're carrying heavy luggage. We should've checked reviews instead of relying on the decent-looking photos. They also ask for a 50,000 IDR room deposit, so it's better to withdraw cash beforehand.

For just 12 Singapore Dollar, I got a very good room at a very cheap price. The shower room was great, with both cold and warm water. A very good choice for backpackers, highly recommend.

The staff were helpful with sorting out my ferry booking and arranging pickup from the ferry terminal to the hotel. But there was no lift, so I had to carry my bag up the stairs to level 4. I paid IDR300K, and didn't get a towel until 2000 hrs. I extended by one night, then found my door card blocked without any explanation. They only said the access card had to be reset daily.

It's also known as 'Batam Backpacker'. The TV is the only thing that doesn't look very old, though everything else works fine. I wouldn't recommend it for solo travel because the age of the room made it feel a little scary.

The room reeked of mothballs and was full of mosquitoes. The place was rundown, and the pillows and sheets looked worn and used. It was a miserable stay. I shouldn't have considered staying here.
