The exterior is lovely, with beautiful Japanese-style decor, but the room disappointed me, and I even found a cockroach in it. The bathroom was cramped, and I was concerned about pool hygiene because people were swimming in regular clothes, including shirts and trousers. Wi-Fi was very slow at times. Breakfast had few choices, and the selection was almost the same each day.

Staying in a container at Kontena is a unique experience, though the room is small, as you’d expect. The amenities are nice: a pool, playground, water heater, water refill dispenser, and an okay breakfast, among other things. I was impressed that breakfast for my 3-year-old didn’t cost extra. Recommended.

The room’s small, of course, but it still has everything you need. I was happy here for two nights, with no complaints and no regrets. If you want to see what sleeping in a container is like, this is your chance.

I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It’s a unique hotel, with container-style rooms and a pretty, peaceful Japanese garden where fish swim in the ponds. The staff were friendly, especially the restaurant lady who helped me with dinner.

They even brought our breakfast to the room after breakfast hours, and every other request we made was taken care of right away. The service went well beyond what I expected. The hotel was very clean, and its architecture and look felt like an exact replica of Japanese hotels. We really enjoyed staying here. A well-deserved five stars from us, and I’d definitely recommend it.
