Rumah Kebun Villa Lulu

The staff and owner made me feel welcome, almost like joining a big family, and everything around the property was well kept. The rooms are new, clean, and nice, with lovely gardens and vegetable fields all around. Lulu sits high on the slopes, with a striking view across the valley and surrounding mountains. Mount Arjuna is right in front. It’s good value, and I’d happily return on my next visit to Batu. I had a great stay and can recommend it wholeheartedly. I do have a couple of suggestions. The different music playing loudly from three or four places at the same time was a headache. Music itself is fine, but people come to Batu to hear nature, too. The menu could also make better use of the vegetables and fruit growing all around. I ordered Nasi Goreng with lots of vegetables and got rice with just a few green leaves, while carrots, salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions were growing nearby. With the oven and such capable staff, maybe they could try apple pie, banana bread, carrot cake, muffins, strawberry desserts, homemade apple or strawberry jam, bread, or fresh carrot and apple juice. I’m sure the staff would be glad to experiment and learn, especially with ingredients so readily available. Instant foods like Indo Mie don’t really set the place apart. People want to eat healthily and try new things, and I have confidence in the management. I’m looking forward to a more exciting menu next time.
