We liked it enough to extend our stay. It’s such a laid-back, quiet spot, which suited us perfectly, and with only three rooms there wasn’t much chance of noise. The room is very basic, just a bed and a couple of shelves. We also saw the deluxe room, and there’s not much space to spread out or store things, so keep that in mind for groups of more than two. The showers get properly hot, a welcome thing in the cool weather. The woman working there was really kind and made us breakfast with Bali coffee. :)

We left in the middle of the night, which I’ve never had to do before despite travelling around Asia and South America and staying in budget places. When we arrived, nobody was there, even though we’d tried to get hold of them all day. The room we’d booked couldn’t be used because the key had been lost. The replacement smelled awful, was mouldy and very dirty, and we could hear what seemed like mice or rats in the walls. We tried to put up with it for one night, but couldn’t. We left our bags there and walked to another nearby Homestay. The owner refunded us, but blamed the whole thing on his staff and said he hoped we’d forgive their “mistake.” Worst night ever. 100% do not recommend.

The facilities were a little spread out, with the bathroom some distance from our room, but that was okay. At night we could hear wild animals around us. We spent one night here with my family and loved the rustic jungle setting. Breakfast only had fried Noodle or fried rice to choose from, but both were really tasty.

The shared bathrooms caught me by surprise, and the WiFi kept cutting in and out. There’s no proper lock on the door, and it felt a bit expensive for one person compared with nearby options. Those are the reasons I took off a star, though I’d still highly recommend it for couples. The cabins are an unusual stay, raised high off the ground and built from bamboo and other materials. They sit in a lush farming area with lovely landscaping. Staff were friendly, and the manager arranged an early breakfast so I could head to Bratan Temple for sunrise photos. The food was good, and the woman who cooked it was very kind. A scooter makes it easy to get around local spots, and I recommend renting one for a tour.

The sunrise from the tree house was beautiful. The owner also makes breakfast, with nasi goreng or mie goreng on offer. Our first standard double room didn’t work out. We heard animals, maybe mice or rats, racing between the ceiling and roof, and after a few hours we couldn’t stay in there. There were also small bits of poop on the bedding. We brushed them off and went to dinner, but came back to find fresh ones on the bed. There was a huge spider in the doorway too, though that didn’t bother us much since it’s a tree house. Thankfully the owners were still around that night. They understood when we asked to change rooms and gave us another one.
