The garden is large and beautiful, right by the lake, and made the stay memorable. At night it was very quiet. I booked at the last minute and appreciated how private and spacious the room felt, with a separate living area, private bathroom, small balcony, and a drying area at the back. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom had a water heater. A few things could be better: the shower pressure was very weak, and there was no electric kettle in my room even though I saw them in other rooms. An extra floor mat for the balcony would help. Breakfast was a 6/10, very simple and not memorable. There was some construction noise next door in the afternoon, a little disturbing but not a big issue. A smart/Android TV would be great too, since the one in my room seemed about as old as my grandfather lol. The floor was extremely sticky, like it had been mopped with soap and not rinsed properly, and got very slippery when wet. I was there with a toddler during rainy weather, so I had to mop the whole floor myself to make it safe. First time renting a villa and having to mop it myself lol.

The guys running this lakeside resort were super helpful. They’re motorcycle enthusiasts and were happy to fix a minor issue with my bike. The bungalows have nice big windows, and there’s a special entry room. I was surprised to find a bathtub in the bathroom. The temple and lake are within walking distance, and I saw families having breakfast in the garden in the morning. It was a wonderful stay in a cool spot, at a very reasonable price. A perfect place to enjoy the North Bali experience!

Breakfast was included, and the staff were super friendly and relaxed. The room was spacious and clean, and the grounds and ambience are gorgeous. We had such a nice night here.

The one good thing was being close to Bratan Leak. We stayed one night as a family after booking 2 room superior cottage II on agoda.com. The website said there was a buthub, but when we arrived it wasn’t there and the kids were upset. The old TV only had 2 or 3 chanel, and the picture was blurry and awful. The restaurant was closed, and almost half the building seemed like a death house, scary.

The grounds are beautiful, and for photography the location is the main draw. You can skip the line to see the temple and take night or early morning pictures with nobody around. It’s a nice place to stay if that’s what you’re after. The rooms need some love, though: they’re old and not maintained, so don’t come for comfort. It’s somewhere to sleep for one night, and that’s it.
