The room was cramped, and the bathroom door wouldn’t lock. The towels were faded and dull, the storage area was dusty, the sheets were dirty, and the mattress dipped in the middle. There was also a parking charge of 30,000 IDR at check-in, then they asked for that same amount again at checkout, saying it hadn’t been paid.
For a room costing about 250,000 Rupiah, this really wasn’t reasonable. It was dirty, shabby, and smelled bad, and the toilets were filthy. Some sinks and toilets leaked too, so there was plenty to complain about. Booking through the app was no help either, since they demanded an extra fee when I arrived.
If you book for the wrong date, you can’t cancel or switch it to the date you meant to choose. Booking offline doesn’t work either, since the price is far above the app and you end up having to book through the app again.

Scam! I paid through the app, but when I got there the receptionist said all the rooms were full. It wasn’t just me, other guests were told the same thing. They said I should get a refund from Agoda, but Agoda told me I’d already checked in at 4 a.m. in room 14!!! Who was in there, my ghost?! I messaged the number listed on WhatsApp and got no reply at all!!!!
